Kuba Mikurda (born 1981) is a film scholar and filmmaker based in Warsaw, Poland. He started as a film critic, journalist and publisher, then worked as TV director and „Film News” talk show presenter for Canal+ Poland.

Mikurda has studied psychology (MA, 2006) and philosophy (PhD, 2012). He works as an Assistant Professor at Film School in Łódz. He has delivered a number of guest lectures abroad, including British Film Institute and Tate Modern in London and Volksbühne in Berlin. He has been a student of the maverick philosopher & psychoanalyst Slavoj Žižek and written a thick book about his work.

Mikurda is fascinated by the idea of mixing film practice & research – he has explored various forms of visual film analysis, including graphic novel, found footage film, instalation and performance (as a creative duo with visual artist Jakub Woynarowski). Every time he falls in love with a film, he wants to share it with a largest number of people – this is how he initiated & co-edited books on Terry Gilliam, Brothers Quay, Guy Maddin, Tsai Ming-liang and, last but not least, Walerian Borowczyk.

Mikurda has been five times nominated for Polish Film Institute Award (category „film book”and „TV/radio show”) and won the Polish edition of British Council’s „International Young Screen Entrepreneur”.
