Family entertainment animation Cattle Hill (Kutoppen) directed by Lise I. Osvoll opened on the top of the box office in Norway on its first weekend of screenings on October 19 th and ranked higher than titles, such as A Star Is Born, Smallfoot and Louis & Luca – Mission to the Moon.
New Europe Film Sales also announced a spree of sales for the film ahead of AFM including UK (Kaleidoscope), Middle East (Empire), Benelux (Just Film), Russia (Ten Letters) and South Korea (L Company).
Cattle Hill is a story about the young cow Klara, who lives in the city with her mum and dreams of becoming a pop star. One day she receives a letter from her father whom she has not seen for many years and travels to the countryside to meet him. There she helps to save his farm from a greedy businessman, makes her first friend and understands that one can be a star in many more ways than she imagined.
Cattle Hill is produced by one of the leading animation studios in Scandinavia – Qvisten Animation – the company that animated the popular films, In the forest of Huckybucky, Louis & Luca, Twigson, Knudsen & Ludvigsen.
It features songs from various Norwegian pop stars including Lisa Børud, Emilie Nicolas, ARIF & Unge Ferrari and Odd Nordstoga. The film is co-produced with Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park, in cooperation with The Lipp and the publishing house Vigmostad & Bjørke. The distributor in the Nordic Countries is Nordisk Film.
Cattle Hill is the second animated feature for children and family in New Europe’s catalogue after this year’s Berlinale Generation-selected Swedish Gordon & Paddy.
