Ben Pearce’s feature debut A Few Miles South is among six films to receive funding from the UK Global Screen Fund’s International Co-production strand. The darkly comic thriller follows two ill-fated explorers trapped just a few miles from the North Pole, whose dwindling food supply turns their hunger for glory into something far more sinister.
The minority UK co-production is backed by Mike Elliott of EMU Films, alongside Ireland’s Stop Gap Films, Poland’s New Europe Productions and Belgium’s Wrong Men North. The screenplay is written by Vincent Kearney.
