God Will Not Help Named Croatia’s Oscar Entry!
God Will Not Help has been selected as Croatia’s official entry for the International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards, the Croatian Society of Film Workers announced this week.
Directed by Hana Jušić, the film follows a mysterious foreign woman who arrives in a remote mountain community claiming to be the long-lost wife of a man who left years earlier. It premiered at the 78th Locarno Film Festival, where Manuela Martelli and Ana Marija Veselčić shared the Pardo for Best Performance, and has since played over 40 festivals worldwide, winning 12 prizes, including in Sarajevo and Thessaloniki.
The film was produced by Ankica Jurić Tilić for Kinorama, with Italian, Romanian, Greek, French and Slovenian co-producers.
The 99th Academy Awards ceremony takes place on March 14, 2027.
