Hlynur Pálmason’s The Love That Remains Wins Latin American Critics’ Award for European Films 2026
Icelandic director Hlynur Pálmason’s The Love That Remains has received the Latin American Critics’ Award for European Films, presented by EFP European Film Promotion at the Guadalajara International Film Festival. The award, now in its third edition, was decided by 35 critics from 13 Latin American countries.
The film — a tender and emotionally precise portrait of a family navigating separation — had its World Premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and is an Icelandic-French-Danish-Swedish co-production.
