We are very happy to announce that two of our feature films JUMPMAN and PANIC ATTACK will compete for Crystal Globe at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival!
PANICK ATTACK is a debut of Paweł Maślona the filmmaker behind our award-winning short MAGMA. The film was an art-house box office hit in Poland and attracted over 200.000 viewers. The film shows six stories about ordinary people put in extreme situations, which cause them to experience a panic attack. We experience a roller coaster of events: a woman meets her two exes during one night, a couple picks the worst seat on an airplane, a young girl risks having her girlfriends expose her as a porn star, a bride gives birth on her own wedding, a teenager gets stoned for the first time while a young man has to beg his weird mother to save his life’s work. A brilliant satire that cuts through society with razor-sharp humor.
JUMPMAN marks our second collaboration with Ivan, director of acclaimed film ZOOLOGY that we represented. The project was presented at Rotterdam’s Cinemart in 2017. It tells the story of Dennis, who grew up in an orphanage, where his mother left him soon after his birth. He is a special boy, who due to a rare illness is immune to pain. This makes him popular among other boys, who take bets on how long he can endure cruel physical games. One day his mother turns up out of the blue and takes him to Moscow, where he becomes part of a gang that extracts money from wealthy people. Dennis becomes a “jumpman” – someone who jumps in front of cars to blackmail the drivers. Reunited with his mother, Dennis’ feels that this new life is a dream come true until one day… he starts feeling pain again.
