Magnus von Horn’s second film SWEAT is part of Cannes’ Official Selection announced today by festival’s head Thierry Fremaux.

SWEAT recounts three days in the life of fitness
motivator Sylwia Zając, whose presence on social media has made her a celebrity. Although she has hundreds of thousands of followers, is surrounded by loyal employees and admired by acquaintances, she is looking for true intimacy.

Von Horn, whose first film THE HERE AFTER (EFTERSKALV) played in Directors’ Fortnight in 2015, wrote and directed the movie, which was developed as part of the Torino Film Lab and ACE27. The film introduces Magdalena Koleśnik in her first major role.

SWEAT was produced by Lava Films. Co-producers include Zentropa Sweden, Film i Vast, ITI Neovision S.A., EC1 Łódź – The City of Culture, Di Factory and Opus Film. Sophie Erbs from Cinema Defacto served as Associate producer on the film.

The film was financed by Polish Film Institute, Swedish Film Institute and Creative Europe Media programme.
